Funkin’ Up Your Atmosphere, or Bringin’ Your A Game?
Recently stumbled upon Hazel’s article, What Impact Do You Have on Your Environment? over a the Wentworth Consultants blog.
Hazel asks the question, “What are we bringing into our world? How are we affecting the atmosphere in our place of work? Do we improve it or bring it down? What are we bringing to our relationships? What energy do we put out into the universe?”
Kinda questions make you say hmmm, don’t they? Especially with all the STUFF we have going on. Work, family, health, fitness, trying to have a personal life - it all adds up. And often times our attitude takes a downward spiral. Time for an attitude check.
Hazel makes some great points about taking ownership and responsibility for the vibe you’re sending out into your work environment.
She offers the following tips for finding out just what the funk you’re spreading around your atmosphere:
Get’s you thinking about your attitude doesn’t it? Make’s you wonder if it’s really “them” or you that’s funkin’ up your atmospshere. Take a look in the mirror and ask some of Hazel’s questions. Is it really us vs. them? Or us vs. us? Hazel makes a great case for, “Being the change you wish to see in the world”.
If you’re interested in bustin’ up a funky ‘tude, check out another article I wrote over at coachamatic.com called I Heart My Gratitude Problem. It’s full of ways to put an end to a funky mood by being grateful for what we do have.
And that includes quirky cubicle mates and last-pot-o-coffee swindlin’ co-workers! Take a moment and check the temperature on your attitude. Are you spreadin’ the love or bringin’ a good biz down?
