Have you used PersonalBrain?
One of the commenters on Kelly’s post that I just blogged about recommended an app I’ve used before, but haven’t tried for a while: PersonalBrain. This is an app that you have to see to understand. Essentially it’s very much like mind mapping, but the way the app does it is pretty innovative. As you move between thoughts it becomes the central focus, but you can still see related thoughts and connectors in the background.
In my bygone Glaxo days I used PersonalBrain and even had a paid license for it. I got into it as a personal knowledge management tool (PKM), but I could get others to use it so it lost its appeal. I’ve tried to use it since, but it just didn’t click for me.
Anyway, for many people it is extremely helpful (when I used it I found it invaluable to keeping all the bits and pieces of projects tied together) so I think it’s worth a download an install (30-day trial).

Hi Tris,
I just came across your post and thought you might like to know there is a new version of PersonalBrain out now in beta. There are lots of new features and our users have been very influential in it development. Plus, there is now a complete free version that does not expire. Try it at http://www.thebrain.com.
Regards,
-Harlan (from TheBrain)
