How’s your environment?
True story: I’m walking down the street between two of my company’s locations and run into a coworker. In the middle of the crosswalk, walking in opposite directions, he shouts out to me:
“Did anything happen in your environment this week?”
Thinking about it for a second, I responded, “No, everything was OK for me.”
In corporate speak, that’s how he asked me if my group was impacted by the layoffs that week in my division and my way of answering that my group was fine. At least, for now.
I used to do humor based upon Corporate Speak. Now it’s protection. Pretty sad, isn’t it?
