PYW Asks: What is your definition of a good work-life balance?
Readers, readers, readers. No one answered the question I asked last time, which was “What is your dream job?” Don’t worry - I’m taking on the blame myself. After all, what a painfully common, question, right? Still, if you feel the need to answer it, you can do so at the comments section of that post.
So, this week, I’m asking you all:
What is your definition of a good work-life balance? Have you attained it? Will you never attain it? Can you give any examples of friends or relatives who have achieved this or who are having trouble achieving it?

A good balance for me would be a four-day workweek. Then I could get all the ’stuff’ (groceries, laundry, cleaning) done in one day and still have two to do what I want.

My dream job:
1 pays enough to settle all obligations & leaves some for taxes & a retirement plan
2 has pleasant people to work with
3 leaves time for family & friends and for smelling the roses
4 carries some prestige
5 makes a difference in the company & the community.
If the dream job has stress within in tolerable / manageable limits, then I will have achieved a Work - Life balance.

That’s a good way to see it, Jean. Easy to measure.
Thanks for your input, Ren. It’s nice that your definition of a dream job also includes work-life balance.

Allows me to work from home or the bookstore. Do heavy Work for 4 hours in the late afternoon early evening. Have a 3 day work week if I want to. Be financially abundant. Sleep til 10 and travel as often as I like.
