ReaderMini–Google reader for your PDA

by Tris Hussey on January 22nd, 2007

I’m loving Google Reader lately.  Yeah I know that I’ve been a client-side rss reader kind of guy for a long time, but you gotta try new stuff once and a while.  So there is a "mobile" version of GR that Google provides.  It’s through your mobile browser and not an app.  I’ve tried it a few times.  But really with the number of feeds I track (close to 400) it isn’t a great solution.  Saw on LifeHacker and DownloadSquad about a third-party app called ReaderMini that is supposed to hook into GR on some phones and PDAs.  It doesn’t look like it’s going to work with my Berry, so oh well.

One thing to keep in mind when you’re trying all these skookum new mobile apps is your mobile bandwidth plan.  Yeah I got seriously dinged a couple months ago with my Gmail App addiction.  Okay the Reuters app didn’t help much either.  Regardless, all these mobile apps chew on you bandwidth allocation.  Now if you have a WiFi-enabled device and use that to connect, that’s a horse of a different colour.  If anyone tries ReaderMini, let me know how it goes, eh?
