Pimp Your Work - Improving Your Work Day Efficiency

Resistance is futile: Passion

by Scot Herrick on February 13th, 2007

You’re passionate about your life and work, aren’t you? You’re supposed to be.

Yet, here you are, dragging your sorry behind into work and barely getting anything done in spite of the fact this is the work you were most excited about doing in years. Ignoring all those cool tricks and toys that Tris has been providing you all this time to help Pimp Your Work. That, my friend, is “resistance.”

Resistance is anything that drags down your ability to be passionate about your life and work.

The opposite of resistance is “attraction.” We should all be attracted to our life and work. It should be easy to begin the work, live the life, and be in the moment. Not that the work is easy, nor the life, but we should be attracted to the engagement of the work.

When we have resistance to engaging in the work, you are much more likely to avoid the work. Much less likely to do the hard stuff that the work needs to have done. Much less likely to see the opportunities presented to help you grow.

Resistance can really kill passion.
