AVG releases a Vista-compatible firewall

by Tris Hussey on May 29th, 2007

For all of us who made the jump to Vista or got a machine with Vista pre-installed, you might know that the only third-party firewall that is compatible with Vista has been a Symantec product. I’m not a huge fan of Norton Internet Security. In fact I tend to cringle when I see it on a user’s machine because I can bet I’m going to have an issues with something Internet-related.

I just read, however, that AVG has just released a Vista-compatible version of its firewall and security suite.

Unfortunately, however, there still doesn’t appear to be any free, third-party, Vista-compatible firewall out there. Rumour is that a beta Comodo’s will be out in June. Not sure if I’m too game on running a beta firewall, but we’ll just have to see next week, won’t we?

Cool, I’ve been looking for one to buy since I just got Vista. ZoneAlarm is now also Vista-compatible.
